Gingerbread house preparation instructions
(For one house)
- 450 grams Bake Delicious gingerbread cookie mix
- 200 grams butter, cubed
- 36 grams whisked egg
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Place everything in a large bowl and rub with your hands until a cohesive dough forms. Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour for a firm texture.
Roll out the dough to approximately 0.5 cm thick on a floured surface. Cut or shape the house components and bake them in a preheated oven at 170°C (160°C convection) for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Let the cookies cool completely before assembling.
Assemble the house with royal icing or another sturdy edible adhesive. Let the icing harden thoroughly before you start decorating for the best result.
