With the Bake Delicious Pepernoten–Speculaas mix, you can easily bake the tastiest spicy cookies. The mix has exactly the right balance of spices, giving your cookies a warm, classic taste. Perfect for Sinterklaas, holidays, or simply when you fancy something delicious that smells wonderfully of cinnamon, cloves, and speculaas.
Versatile mix for all kinds of speculaas cookies
This mix is ideal for both small 'pepernoten' and larger 'speculaas' slabs. The dough remains firm enough to create beautiful shapes with 'speculaas' molds or cutters, yet is soft enough to work with comfortably. The cookies bake to a golden brown and develop a wonderfully rich 'speculaas' flavour.
Ingredients and allergens
Ingredients: WHEAT flour, Sugar, LUPIN flour (toasted), Raising agent: E450i, Raising agent: E500ii, Glucose syrup (dried), Dextrose, Invert sugar syrup, Whey permeate (MILK), Baker's salt, Spices.
Allergens: Contains wheat, lupin and milk.
Preparation method (speculaas slabs or large shapes)
- 250 grams Bake Delicious speculaas mix
- 100 grams butter in cubes
- 20 grams egg
Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Rub the ingredients together in a bowl until a cohesive dough forms. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Then roll it out on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of approximately 0.5 cm and press it into a 'speculaas' mold or cut out shapes.
Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 170°C (160°C fan-assisted) for about 12–15 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool thoroughly so they firm up and develop their typical 'speculaas' crispness.

Form small balls from the dough and bake them for 12–15 minutes at the same temperature. After cooling, they become wonderfully crispy and spicy, ideal for in a shoe, at school, or as a tasty treat.
